Bright Start California is the California chapter of the Bright Start Initiative — a student-founded nonprofit originally launched in Washington that delivers free dental supplies and multilingual oral-health education to underserved kids.
The California chapter was founded to bring that same model into Los Angeles — where the same gaps exist for families around our partner schools. We're building this from the ground up: recruiting officers, forming school partnerships, and pursuing formal USC recognition.
We're a chapter for pre-dental and pre-med college students who want to make a real difference during college. Volunteers help assemble kits, run oral-health lessons, and build lasting relationships with LA elementary schools.
Every volunteer is a college student. Every kit is packed by hand. Every lesson is available in the language a family actually speaks at home — 18+ languages and counting.
